Easter eggs and holidays

Happy Easter to all. Much love to this guy for the meaning behind this long weekend.

Just got back from the writhing metropolis that is Palmy North (no, i’m not joking!). It was so good to get out of Wellington for a while, and just spend some time relaxing at home. Got to watch a whole lot of discovery channnel, play some guitar, hang with my bro and do a bit of painting too.

Went out on saturday with my Gran and caught my brother’s rugby game against one of the local teams. They didn’t play too well and ended up drawing the game, but it was good to get out. I love going to the local rugby games as there’s something so typically ‘Noo Zulland’ about it - It reminds me of when I used to tag along to them with my Dad when I was young, and even 20 years later i’m sure some of the same old people are still there supporting their team. The smell of ciggarettes in the air, the young kids running around their parent’s legs and climbing over bleachers behind the ground, and the warm smell of hot-dogs and chips wafting over the feild… ahhhh, your typical Kiwi saturday afternoon rugby game.

My parents were away on the weekend, but mum left me and my brother Easter eggs for sunday. I haven’t had one of those big eggs that you get for a few years now, but I really think something’s gone wrong with the making of Easter eggs these days. The egg I got was a branded ‘Cadbury Moro’ one, but it seemed to be lacking a little something. All it was was two boring hollow chocolate eggs, and a moro bar. You’d think that the folks at Cadbury would spice up their eggs a bit more come Easter time wouldn’t you? I was hoping some lollies or lots of small eggs with a moro bar center would fall out, but no…just more boring hollow chocolate. If i’m gonna eat chocolate eggs and get pimples and get fatter, the least I expect is to have some fun and entertainment while eating!

Hope you all had great relaxing weekends
