Here endeth day one
All in all a pretty good first day here at the Wellington Webstock conference. Heard talks from Doug Bowman, Joel Spolsky, Darren Fittler, Donna Maurer, Kelly Goto and Steve Champeon.
Highlights were: Doug Bowman. Even just watching his Keynote presentation slides was enough to get me hot and sweaty! The guy is a great designer. Joel Spolsky was pretty funny, and talked about all the annoying stuff like updates and restarts that computer users (read PC users) get bogged down with when trying to perform simple tasks like check their email! The 8×5 session had some gems in it: A guy from Shift illustrating how to mark-up wireframes in Flash (good idea), and Darren from DNA’s comment about the 8×5 panel being like watching episodes of Dragon’s Den! (via Hayden).
Looing forward to what’s in store tomorrow.
