Proud as punch
I must say that I’m quite proud of my sis.
Today my sister and her team won Silver at the Canoe Polo World Champs in Amsterdam. The score was 1-0 to Germany, and their golden goal was scored in extra time. Sounds like it was an intese final! Never-the-less, the ‘Paddle Ferns’ are now the highest ever ranked Canoe Polo team in NZ! Good stuff.
It looks like they had a blow by blow live text update on the official site too. Bugger - wish I’d known about that earlier! From reading the updates, it sounds like Germany were all over NZ the whole game, it seems Al had an opportunity to score, but passed to a teammate and she missed: “New Zealand number 6 in scoring position, no keeper… but she passes, her teammate misses goal.” Gutted eh…
Anyway, this looks painful.
