Canceled order at Amazon.com
So the other day when our dollar was insanely high against the US (80 cents) I ordered a book from Amazon.
My order went through smartly, and I thought all was well. A few weeks later I started wondering where my nice book had got to, when around the same time I got an email from amazon saying that the shipping of my book had been delayed due to there being no stock. OK, no worries, another week i can handle.
Figuring Amazon had already processed my order, I popped into the bank to change my credit card (so I could get travel insurance for a few upcoming overseas trips). So as you can guess the next email i get from Amazon is one saying “hey we’re trying to send you your order but we can’t process your card - can you sort it out?”.
So I log in to Amazon and check my order, and I go to put in my new credit cards details when suddenly I have the realization that I now won’t get the book at the same price as when I was ordering it (cause now the dollar is back down around 70 cents), so I canceled the order.
Not that Amazon really care all that much, but because they didn’t have the book in stock and took ages to communicate with me, and then when they did I had changed credit cards, they lost a sale.
I’m probably more gutted than they are though, cause I really did want that book. Oh well…
