When the weather’s with you
A reformed Crowded house came to Wellington last night along with Supergroove and Pluto. They played a sold out show that was an absolute cracker from start to finish. There were a few low points such as when Supergroove and CH played a good dose of old obscure stuff, and some newer songs that neither I or many people around me knew. At one point, after about 4 of these, many people got up and went to the loo or got a drink.
But it wasn’t long before our perseverance paid off and we were treated to some “good old shit” as Neil Finn so eloquently put it. Highlights from Supergroove for me were Scorpio girls and one other that I can’t remember the name of. And some absolute classics from the CH boys including Weather with you, Fall at your feet, Better be home soon and Private universe.
I pretty much missed all of the gigs these guys when they were around, so it was a real privilege to be there last night to hear some mighty fine New Zealand music.
