Well, it came and went. I got up at 6am, the geek that I am (I mean who gets up at 6am to listen to computer companies announce new products???).
It was a pretty good keynote from Steve Jobs. He announced a bunch of things, but most prominently was the new 'MacBook Air'. A nice and thin portable which looks amazing. There's some new Apple TV stuff which my ...

Christmas has come early: Stats for Flickr pro members. This has made my day extra-geeky.

I'm not sure if i'll ever use this, but it's good to know they now have it: photo manipulation/editing in flickr.
After trying it out on a photo, but then cancelling the changes, I got this message:
OK. We've cancelled that edit. Nothing's changed. Carry on.
I think they spelled canceled wrong, but hey, it's still a nice little message to get - and I love the writing style. It ...

One of the interesting things I noted at the FOWD conference was an insistence on web content being human-like. I guess a more technical term would be conversational or colloquial language - that used in everyday speech.
I came across a good example of this today as I received my shipping confirmation on some posters I ordered:
Internationally shipped orders usually arrive within 14 days, but please allow up to ...

A very interesting article on canonical web designs over at bokardo.com
Here's just a few of the juicy, thought inducing quotes from the article:
So, as a web designer, there is no analog to “look at this logo and see how it stands for a company”. That’s relatively easy for graphic designers because we can quickly appreciate the way a logo graphically depicts some attribute of the company: “solid, blue, ...

find yourself at the pub and your mate's brought you a beer and you end up leaving before you can buy him a round? Or has a friend ever done something nice for ya and you've thought "Man, I need to buy that guy a beer"?
Well, now you can let that person know with Foamee.
You gotta have a twitter account though. I knew twitter was good for ...

What a mad week. Feel like I've had absolutely no sleep at all (I almost haven't), and I've really made good use of my time here. New York is an amazing city: full of style, brashness, warmth, anger, fun, and excitement.
As you've all guessed, I've had no time to update the blog as i've been burning the candle at both ends, but here's there short version:
So, working backwards: ...

Witnessed some excellent road rage today: One guy cut another guy off. Guy that got cut off gives the other guy the bird out the window. Other guy stops parallel with bird guy. Coarse words are exchanged, and guy that cut other guy off drives away. Bird guy keeps giving it his best at the top of his lungs: "You F'n A-hole... why don't you learn how to ...

After a slow start trying to tell the cabbie where abouts in New York city I wanted to go, we finally get onto the motorway for our half hour journey into the city.
Sitting in the Yellow Cab, with the cabbie flooring the gas pedal every 2 seconds and then backing off, I found the solution to the oil shortage: New York cab drivers need to ease off on ...

I'm almost very nearly just around the corner about any minute now about to leave on a jet plane for New York City...baby! Hot damn. I could do without the 12+5 hours of flights, but hey... that's what iPods are for.
The prayers are said, the camera's charged, the suitcase is borrowed (thanks Amanda) and almost packed, the phone's off the hook (well, maybe not), the laptop's getting a ...
